The Hampton Roads Economic Development Alliance (the Alliance) is pleased to announce it has hired Alisa Crider as its new Director of Investor Relations & Development. This position represents the organization’s continued commitment to engaging public and private sector investors in the region in an effort to bring economic growth to its 11 partner localities.
“Regional economic development is not possible without both public and private sector participation. The Alliance has seen a significant increase in private sector investment in 2019 and is committed to maintaining and growing these relationships,” says Alliance President & CEO, Doug Smith. “We are excited to have Alisa Crider joining our team. She is well known throughout the business community and I have complete confidence that she will excel within this new role here at the Alliance.”
As Director of Investor Relations & Development, Crider will lead the organization’s Investor Relations efforts and serve as a liaison between the Alliance and its public and private sector investors. In this role, Crider will be responsible for establishing and implementing a robust investor engagement strategy to include coordinating investor-focused special events, quarterly updates, and prospecting new investors when possible. Crider will assume her new role on December 9, 2019.
Alisa Crider recently served as the Marketing & Communications Strategist for Hampton Roads Transit where she communicated with customers, employees, and stakeholders all to advance the public transportation landscape in the region. She played a major role in executing several large-scale transportation events, served as a spokeswoman for the agency, and was a host on an agency show, “Connect Hampton Roads” which brought a regional spotlight to businesses in the area. Prior to that role, she was the Manager of Communications & Marketing for the Hampton Roads Chamber.
A native to Hampton Roads, Crider has immersed herself in the fabric of the community as an active individual dedicated to advocacy and community development. She is a founding board member of tHRive, the young professional program of the Hampton Roads Chamber. She is currently finishing her two-year Chairwoman term and has been busy ensuring the next generations of leaders are empowered and have a voice in the region. tHRive is the largest young professional program in Hampton Roads with over 2,200 members.
Crider is a 2018 Lead Hampton Roads graduate, a 2016 CoVa Biz Millennial on the Move, and 2018 Top 40 Under 40 Recipient. She serves on the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – Hampton Roads board as Vice-Chair, on the Public Relations Society of America Hampton Roads Chapter board as Director, and on her alma mater, Virginia Wesleyan University’s Alumni Council, where in 2018 she was named Graduate of the Last Decade.
