Regional Leaders Tour Fairwinds Landing

Regional and statewide leaders tour Norfolk's Fairwinds Landing.

Senator Tim Kaine, Congressman Bobby Scott and Norfolk Mayor Kenny Alexander, as well as other regional business leaders, came together to tour Norfolk’s Fairwinds Landing March 19.

Fairwinds Landing aims to become a world-class Marine Logistics Center that provides home ported companies and their customers a competitive advantage to succeed in the industries that are the most synergistic with Virginia’s strengths – offshore wind, shipbuilding and repair, and transportation and logistics.

Hampton Roads sits at the intersection of defense and energy, serving as a critical hub where national security and energy security converge through its dual-use infrastructure supporting both military and renewable energy operations.

The tour group also took a ride onto Pier P to view offshore wind vessels, Portsmouth Marine Terminal across the water and the broader facility.

Discussions highlighted Fairwinds Landing’s vital role in supporting offshore wind operations.

Following the tour, a roundtable featuring key industry leaders explored the region’s potential to drive economic growth and sustainability.
