Total Quality Logistics Announces Opening Of Office In Norfolk, Va

Written on June 5, 2024

Norfolk is TQL’s second office in Virginia, joining Richmond

HAMPTON ROADS, VIRGINIA – (JUNE 4, 2024) — Total Quality Logistics (TQL), the second-largest freight brokerage in North America and one of the largest global third-party logistics firms, is expanding its presence in Virginia with a new office in Norfolk.

TQL Norfolk, located at 5700 Lake Wright Dr in Suite 100, is currently hiring for Entry Level Sales. Visit TQLjobs.com to apply.

The expansion reinforces TQL’s investment in Virginia. TQL opened its Richmond office in 2015 and is an eight-time Best Places to Work in Virginia award recipient.

“Norfolk is an established transportation hub with immense opportunity for supply chain management and logistics,” TQL President Kerry Byrne said. “We’re excited to expand our commitment in Virginia as members of the Norfolk community and deepen our presence in the Old Dominion state.”

Norfolk is home to the Port of Virginia, the deepest harbor on the East Coast, and is a robust hub for the maritime, transportation and logistics industry. The city is located within two days’ drive to 75% of the U.S. population.

“We are thrilled to welcome TQL, a prominent global logistics company, to Norfolk, where they will be adding 100 jobs. As a key maritime hub, our city has experienced considerable trade growth, which has led to increased job opportunities and the development of local businesses,” Norfolk Mayor Kenneth Alexander said. “TQL’s arrival reinforces Norfolk’s status as a significant force in transportation and logistics, further boosting economic growth and enhancing our competitiveness along the East Coast.”

The Hampton Roads Alliance, a leading regional economic development organization for the Hampton Roads region of Virginia, worked alongside the City of Norfolk to support TQL’s expansion.

“This announcement is testament to the region’s long history as a distribution and logistics hub,” said Douglas L. Smith, President and CEO of the Hampton Roads Alliance. “Home to the Port of Virginia, America’s most modern gateway, Hampton Roads boasts an impressive cluster of logistic companies, and TQL establishing operations in Norfolk will further strengthen this key industry for the region.”

TQL connects customers with shipping needs and carriers with available capacity and service offerings. The company, founded in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1997, works with 140,000-plus carriers to create greater supply efficiencies for its customers and offers a comprehensive portfolio of logistics services.
